seeing : blue skies “smilin’ at me,” bright frosting colors, the glow of birthday cake candles, sweet smiles, paint samples and thrift store finds tasting : buttercream, my favorite summer strawberry salad while dining on the patio at the Brickhouse Pub here in Red Wing, iced tea and cucumber spa water, Jimmy John’s Italian subs for a little riverside picnic in Hastings, good wine and grilled fare hearing : childrens’ laughter, train whistles, bird song and speedboats racing smelling : hickory smoke, fresh mint centerpieces and fresh air feeling : a sense of rebirth and newness, fuzzy kitties, sunshine and warm breezes knowing : Spring is finally here! It turned out to be a lovely, casual lunch spot, with great food and a nice wine list. The service was wonderful, and we definitely plan on a return visit. I’m back! Wow! what a fun weekend we had with the girls. Now I’m cleaning the house after the flurry of activity. On Saturday morning my brother Phillip dropped my darling daughter Andie off at our place for the weekend. He was spending the weekend with my other brother, Terry, who only lives a couple blocks away from me. I got up early so I could pack up a big “care package” for my brothers to enjoy over the weekend. I love to cook, and they love to eat, so it’s a great trade off.
