This is a copy of my first blog article:

Hello everyone and welcome to chindeep.com! I am so excited to be writing about how to add simple pleasures to your life every day. This is a passion for me, and a privilege.

I am the author of two books, “Chin Deep in Bubbles- Little Luxuries for Every Day,” which was published in 2001, and “Welcome Home – Tips For Turning Your Home Into a Luxurious Retreat,” which was published in 2004. Both books were published by a wonderful publishing house on the east coast called “Fair Winds Press.” Writing these books was an adventure. I learned so much from this experience and had a lot of fun along the way.

The purpose of this blog is to share inspirational ideas. My desire it to create a place where you can find useful health tips, great recipes, frugal spa recipes for your bath time, and many other simple pleasures that will enrich your life.

Every week I will try to include the following:

A healthy, delicious recipe

A frugal bath & beauty tip

An inspiring blog about art or a craft I’ve been working on

A movie, book or wine critique

A sort of “journal entry” about some personal happening in my life

I look forward to hearing from you!

xo,

Melissa

    Hi Melissa,
Nice blog. Thought you should know, besides fiction, I’m also working on a non-fiction call Spiritually Self-Medicating. I have an outline – 1st and 2nd chapter and I’m currently working on research when I need to take a break from my novel. I’ll talk about it more on my blog later, but for now, I still have a few chapters before I finish my current project. Later.

    Hello Melissa,
How do I sign up to receive your blog? I loved your books, enjoy your writing style and admire your heartfelt messages. We may even be “kindred spirits”! When do you hope to release your book “Spiritually Self-Medicating”?

    Hello Audrey,

You can subscribe to the blog by going to the bottom of the page and clicking where it says “Entries RSS”…then just follow the instructions for subscribing. :)

I appreciate the compliment! I am not writing a book called “Spiritually Self-Medicating.” You must be thinking of someone else. Sounds like a good read though. Hee hee.

    XO,
    Melissa

    Melissa, HI!

You won’t belive this- or maybe you will…:) but I am a big fan of your books, art and work- and simply googled you to see if something new has come out since your second one…and I found this little gem! I have your work loving stored in my favorites section on my bookshelf, and pull it often for inspiration or even to relax with. I am so excited to have more to read through and be delighted by. :)

    Sincerely,
    Heidi

    :) Hi Melissa!

I am a dork and I will fully admit that I feel a little star-struck, haha! :) I truly admire your work as well as how you live- the fact that it’s seemingly one in the same… My heart craves the simple pleasures of life such as planting a potted plant and finishing that quilt that I started 20 years ago when I was ten! I have a hard time keeping these things in my daily life, and have re-committed to trying. Do you have any new works or books out?

PS. One of my favorite entries in ‘Welcome Home’ is your linen hutch. I don’t have the linens…but I wish I did! :) Its just deliciously wonderful!

oh dear! well, I’m flattered! It’s just me. One of my best friends met me at a book signing and was so cute! I kept telling her “It’s just me!” hee hee… not Madonna or Stephen King ;) LOL

I’m currently working on a tea book that will be published in 2012…and my first novel in a series of three. (Which has been an odyssey, let me tell you!) but I truly love it. It’s funny you should mention my linen hutch…you should see it…eek, what a mess. Time to reorganize and make it pretty again. Maybe i’ll do a post soon so you can see the real thing :) You are a honey! Thanks for posting!

        xoxo,
        M

    Hi Melissa,

I found your gorgeous blog while looking online for local restaurant recommendations, and I’m so glad my search led me here! I’m a fellow writer, and my husband and I moved to Red Wing two years ago — maybe our real-world paths will cross someday. For now, I’ll enjoy reading your blog…

    Thanks!

      Hi Jacqueline!
I am a big fan of your books! We have “The Shadows” upstairs and we’re excited to purchase your new release! Our daughter Gracie had the book signed by you up at the Anderson Center last year, so I did meet you face to face ;) CONGRATS on the success of your beautiful books! And thanks so much for visiting my little corner of the internet.

      Best,
      Melissa

    Oh Melissa!

I just read that you’re working on a TEA book! I’m very excited about seeing what you do with both your writing and the wonderful illustrations. If it’s anything like your previous books, it’s going to be FABULOUS!!! Please let me know when it’s available, as I would LOVE to feature it in our tea room, or even have you come and speak at Heirlooms for a book signing!

      Hi Audrey!
I would love to be a guest author at your tearoom! I’ll let you know when it’s available. It’s still in the early stages. I’m still negotiating with a couple publishing houses.

      Best,
      Melissa

Melissa! I think you have one ROCKIN’ awesome website…I love the look, I love the playfulness, I love the variety, I love the focus…shall I go on??? Your beautifully warm personality shines thru and it is just so inviting…I don’t want to leave!! My goal for my website is somewhat similar, albeit targeted at primarily a female boomer market…in my 3rd chapter of life, I’m excited to share, encourage and inspire others to get out of the ‘audience’ of life and into the ‘arena’ of life cuz there’s still a lotta life, adventure and great new tastings (be if food or something else) out there! You just have rocked me today, sweet friend! xoxo Ally :)

      Ally,
You made my day! You are such a sweet, encouraging person. Thanks so much for the compliments. I can’t wait to visit your site! Keeping up with the blog is a labor of love, and now that I have such a warm circle of foodie friends, such as yourself, I am more inspired than ever to share my little corner of the internet with others every day.

      XOXOXO,
      ~Melissa ;)
